The Eastern District of Louisiana’s Probation Office understands that several items impact an offender’s chances of successful re-entry into the community. Employment, substance abuse, education and mental health treatment are some of the more common issues that offenders deal with while on probation. These barriers, or perceived impasses that could impact the successful re-integration of clients, may present challenges during a probation sentence.
